Earlier this spring I was walking by our lilac bushes when my dog (a terrier rescue mix who has a sixth sense for squirrels and other cute creatures) abrubtly stopped and looked up, incredibly interested in 2 chipmunks who were suspended in the bushes, hugging the lush lilac bunches.
They were in a total daze - unconcerned about the dog down below, unfazed by my camera lens trying to capture the scene. All they cared about was the intoxicating scent of the blooms.
Who can blame them?
I created this piece that same week, painting and stitching all the delicate and delicious blossoms. If the chipmunks had a home with a gallery wall, I think they'd probably purchase it.
- Please note: frame and mat is not included. (When you purchase this piece, we'll send you an email with specific Amazon links to the frame pictured in case you'd like to go that route.)
- This is an original 8.5x11" piece on acetate with acyrlics and white paint pen. Embellished with stitches of embroidery thread. Signed and dated by Grace (aka Snail).
- You have some choices when it comes to framing this original - framing it more traditionally with a mat will add to the longevity while placing in a floating frame will add to the "wow" factor (in our humble opinion - but you do you!).
