"Maybe life isn't about avoiding bruises. Maybe it's about collecting scars to prove we showed up for it." -Hannah Brencher

Leah loved this quote from the moment she read it. She has a scar on her cheek from when she was an excited 5 year-old, running up the stairs in fleece socks to do a sit-up contest with our dad. Now she has a prominent scar running along her spine, the result of multiple surgeries that saved her life. She also has scars running along the upper part of her right leg where it was amputated and a long scar all the way down her left leg from transplanting a vein.

Scars tell a story. Some of them can be seen, some are invisible. They all count. And they're all beautiful because they signal the fact that you survived, that you showed up for life.

May this card be a reminder that pain isn't the end of the story. That extraordinary beauty can spring out of wounded hearts and bodies. That we were built to bloom.

Beautiful card

I sent this card to a dear friend who recently learned her breast cancer returned. I truly wasn’t sure what to say, but the card said so much both in words and artwork. And once I began writing the words followed. Thank you for the gift of Tiny & Snail ❤️

Just Show UP!

I love this card - I mailed to my niece the other day - when my dad was on Hospice I read the the book Just Show Up, at the time by brother was diagnosed with cancer -, and his daughter was his life - we shared the book , and similar paths taking care of our fathers.
A card in the mail sometimes is like a hug knowing others are thinking of you still.

I love this card!

I tell myself that my scars are the tattoos I earned from living -- for a life that is being lived. This card beautifully captures the idea and the artwork is stunning.

Probably my favorite of the sympathy pack due to the illustration!
