This Fall, I cut a bouquet of Mexican Sunflowers from our garden. I had it sitting on my desk where I work everyday, right in front of a window on our second floor.
One day while working on the computer, I noticed a flash of movement outside the window. A hummingbird had come to visit. It kept on returning for a streak of days in September. I took it as a good omen, a sign of hope during a time that has been so hard for so many of us (although in reality, I think it saw the vibrant orange flowers through the window and wanted to get at them).
I researched hummingbirds and found that they symbolize joy and playfulness as well as adaptability. They show us the joy in small things.
Thank you, sweet hummingbird friend. If ever there was a bird I needed to see in 2020, it was you.
- Please note: frame and mat is not included. (When you purchase this piece, we'll send you an email with specific Amazon links to the frame pictured in case you'd like to go that route.)
- This is an original 8.5x11" piece on acetate with acyrlics and white and gold paint pen. Layered on top is another piece of acetate with white acrylic. Signed and dated by Grace (aka Snail).
- You have some choices when it comes to framing this original - framing it more traditionally with a mat will add to the longevity while placing in a floating frame will add to the "wow" factor (in our humble opinion - but you do you!).
