Welcome Baby Snail #2

He's here!!

Text message to our family thread from Grace at 11:32 pm on October 10th (Thursday):

Our second amazing, amazing little boy is earth-side! Meet Leo Palmer Nixon Peterson — born 10/10/2024 at 9:08pm, weighing 9 pounds 1 ounce, 22” long. He has a perfectly round little moon face and is so magically sweet. 😍

Named in honor of his extraordinary Auntie Leah. They are *very* nearly birthday buddies and we’ve prayed throughout this whole pregnancy that he shares her same spirit of resilience, grit, appreciation for everyday miracles and beauty, humor amidst life’s ups and downs. 🫶🏼

A note from Leah:

Welcome to our family baby Leo! I'm so grateful and relieved the delivery went well!

Grace kept the name a strict secret for the whole pregnancy, referring to him only as "Jelly Bean." So my family and I prayed for "Jelly Bean" every night in our evening prayers.

I just found out that they named him after ME. 😭

Hi due date was October 10, and my birthday is October 11. Grace said she hopes that he takes on my good qualities. (Hopefully not the bad ones!)

I loved him already, but knowing that Grace and Bobby named him after me... well, let's just say there will forever be a special place in my heart for baby Leo.

I hope he and Everett grow up as close as Grace and I are. They're only 15 months apart, and it is going to be the CUTEST to see them interact and grow up together. 😍

Send your love and well wishes!

I'll basically be running Tiny and Snail on my own for the next few months (minus Carolyn and team who do an amazing job packaging your orders!) -- please be patient with me getting back to emails. 😅  Our last collection of the year will still launch on October 25th (so check your email next week for a sneak peek! I think you will love these cards!)

Grateful *you* are in our world too. ❤️✨

P.S. What wishes do you have for Leo? Let's shower him with love in the comments!

Welcome to the world, Little Leo! You’ve already upped the joy quota by being here and by being named after your Auntie Leah. You were born into a wonderful, loving, creative, thoughtful, kind, and fun family. My wish for you is that you forever draw wider circles of inclusion, and that the warmth of your love and your families world spills over into other’s worlds. May you always know joy, wonder, and magic, may you know every season especially the no good, awful ones hold goodness, and light. May you know how loved you are. May you love and be loved forever and ever amen. And may you only buy good greeting cards!

My wishes for Leo and all his family is express in F Scott Fitzgerald’s poem Hope,
“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”
Many hugs
Kathleen

Welcome Leo! You are wrapped in love from day one! Your arrival was anticipated with such joy! You’re here! You’re here! I can’t wait to watch you grow and change and become. You are a light in the world!

Welcome to little, actually not so little, Leo! I’ll bet he’ll be sleeping through the night in no time given his hefty size. He’s definitely not a jelly bean weight for a new little one. Thought you might enjoy a children’s book recommendation – Leo the Lightning Bug – https://tinyurl.com/2w6vrcry. I do wonder if Leo’s birth will spark some new card designs. So often Leo gets associated with a lion, but perhaps this book will spark ideas for a series with Leo lightning bugs!

Congratulations! I was so happy to see Leo arrived safely (and nearly on Leah’s birthday!), and that you’re already home. I hope you settle into a comfortable routine and enjoy one another in these sweet early days.

PS I couldn’t be more excited that the last collection of 2024 launches on my birthday. That feels like a special treat!
