"In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer." -Albert Camus

Sometimes things may appear to be baren, but what we don't see is the life and strength that runs "below the ground." This artwork was a wonderful collaboration between the two of us. We really wanted to use this quote on a card and Leah turned it over for awhile, thinking of how to echo the words with a powerful illustration. I (Grace) had painted these flowers in a different piece. Leah was able to take the scan of these lush flowers and combine them with her wintertime illustration.

It's the type of card that we hope ends up being propped on desks and dressers around the world, giving that extra bit of tenacity to whomever receives this card.

Send this triumphant message to someone who is coming out the other side of difficult life circumstances.

A beautiful message of hope and persistence

I work with a nonprofit that serves women in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. I used this quote on a bookmark I made for participants at our annual retreat last year to represent the hope we all need to keep going, especially when the task is daunting. I used a photo of a field of grasses in late summer taken by a friend that represented but your art work on this card is fantastic.

    Bright winter

A quote to inspire anyone going through a dark spell. The bright flowers remind us that there is life and hope still within us even during the coldest winters.
