This card was inspired by "Snowflake" Wilson Bentley, a naturalist from Vermont who passionately and painstakingly photographed individual snowflakes. He was the first person to ever photograph a single snowflake on Jan 15, 1885. He ended up photographing over 5000 snow crystals in his lifetime. And although he tried to sell the photos to universities and publications, he went into debt $11,000 photographing his beloved snow crystals. There is a fabulous children's book about Snowflake Bentley – this card along with the book could make an excellent gift for a child!
